What are the sizes of pillowcases?

To choose the right pillowcase size, the first step is to measure the length and width of your pillow. Use a tape measure and measure from one end of the pillow to the other.

Standard square (65x65 cm) and rectangular (50x70 cm) pillows are the most common. There are also smaller pillows (40x40 cm), often used for children, as well as larger Queen-size models (50x80 cm).

Choosing a pillowcase in the correct size and shape will prevent you from struggling to fit a square pillow into a rectangular case or ending up with a pillow lost inside an oversized cover.

For particularly thick or voluminous pillows, opting for a slightly larger pillowcase may be a good idea.

If you own a King-size, ergonomic, or memory foam pillow, you’ll need a pillowcase designed specifically for special pillows.
