Protect bed base
Nights with children, as we know, sometimes hold a few surprises. A spilled glass, night sweats, a potty-training phase that drags on... So many situations where the mattress takes the full brunt of what the night has that is less than restful. Preserving this investment while guaranteeing your child a healthy sleeping environment: that is exactly what mattress pads and protectors are for. At Sylvie Thiriez, we designed this range for families who refuse to choose between practicality and real comfort. No compromises, no plastic crinkling at the slightest turn. Just softness, efficiency, and bedding that lasts.
Discover a selection designed for the comfort of little ones
A well-equipped children's bed is a bed where you really sleep. Our mattress protectors and under-pillowcases fit discreetly under the fitted sheet, without changing the sleeping feel at all. No more rigid materials that make noise with the slightest movement: our textiles are silent, flexible, and pleasant to the touch from the very first contact.
The range accompanies every stage of growth, from the crib to the big bed. By protecting the mattress and pillows from the start, you significantly extend their lifespan while maintaining a constant level of hygiene. It is a simple gesture that makes a big difference in the long run.
Choosing the right children's bedding protection according to your needs
Prioritizing natural and breathable materials
Children's skin is thin and reactive. The choice of textile is therefore not trivial. Cotton naturally stands out: soft, breathable, respectful of sensitive skin, it regulates heat without trapping moisture. Our ranges offer sleeping surfaces in cotton bouclette, absorbent and plush, for preserved sleep comfort all year round, whatever the season.
Opting for truly breathable waterproofing
Not all protective membranes are equal. We prefer polyurethane coatings rather than classic PVC, which is often too rigid and suffocating. Polyurethane is micro-breathable: it blocks liquids without creating a greenhouse effect. The mattress remains protected, the child does not sweat more, and no parasitic noise disturbs their sleep.
Checking dimensions and fit on the mattress
A mattress pad that slips loses all usefulness and generates uncomfortable folds. Before buying, precisely check the dimensions of the bed and the height of the mattress. Our fitted-sheet style models are equipped with strong elastic bands that keep the protection firmly in place, even on the thickest mattresses. A good fit also means fewer nighttime bed-making sessions for you.
Sylvie Thiriez expertise at the service of durability
Our items are designed to last, not to be replaced at the first difficulty. This manufacturing requirement translates into a rigorous selection of raw materials and special care given to finishes. Our solid 57-thread count cotton, cotton percale models, and all our custom-made items are crafted in our workshop in France. Do you have an atypical bed, an old crib with particular dimensions? Our seamstresses create the adapted piece.
For other collections, we work with partners selected for their expertise and qualitative consistency. This operation allows us to offer reliable products at accessible prices, without ever sacrificing the standard that has characterized the Sylvie Thiriez brand since its beginnings.
Easily maintaining your protections for a lighter daily routine
With children, the washing machine runs often. Our mattress pads and under-pillowcases have understood this well: they withstand frequent washing, including at high temperatures, to effectively eliminate bacteria and dust mites after a nighttime accident. Drying is fast, in the open air or in the tumble dryer depending on the label instructions, so the bed can be made cleanly by the very same evening.
