Children’s pillowcase: the different materials

At Sylvie Thiriez, we work exclusively with natural, durable and comfortable materials such as 57-thread cotton, organic cotton, cotton percale and cotton gauze. Soft and breathable, cotton is an excellent option for a children’s pillowcase. It helps regulate temperature, allowing your little one to stay cool in summer and warm in winter. It’s ideal for baby bedding, especially in its 100% cotton or organic cotton version. Several of our products are Oeko-Tex® certified, guaranteeing the absence of harmful substances. For older children, you can opt for a cotton gauze pillowcase, a lightweight fabric known for its quick-drying properties. Cotton percale also has many advantages. This elegant, high-end material offers a smooth, silky feel. Softness and freshness guaranteed when slipping into bed! Finally, consider protecting your pillows with washed-cotton pillowcases, an ultra-soft and lightweight fabric treated after manufacturing. Naturally crinkled, it requires no ironing.

Care tips

Using a pillowcase helps protect your pillows from sweat and potential dirt. It extends their lifespan while ensuring hygiene and comfort. Stain-resistant and able to withstand frequent washing, cotton pillowcases are suitable for everyday use and easy to care for. You can keep them for many years. Depending on the model, they can be machine-washed at 40° or 60°C and tumble-dried (moderate drying recommended). Medium to high ironing is advised. If you’ve chosen a cotton gauze or washed percale pillowcase, no need to iron: simply place the covers on your pillows right after washing and drying.

What size should you choose for a children’s pillowcase?

Our children’s and baby pillowcases are available in multiple formats: 40x60 cm (standard rectangle for children), 40x40 cm (standard square for children), 65x65 cm (standard square), 50x70 cm (standard rectangle) and even 50x80 cm (European size). You may also opt for a children’s bolster pillowcase. We recommend checking your child’s pillow dimensions before placing an order. Need another size not listed?
